JAM treats each email address as a separate account. If someone needs access to more than one organization, they must use a different email address for each one. The simplest option is to use two existing email addresses, such as a company address for a training organization and a personal address for a recruiting organization. If that is not possible, a plus-addressed email may provide a second address that delivers to the same inbox.
Do not rely on plus addressing when Enterprise SSO is enabled for the email domain. The identity provider controls the account email and will usually return the person’s standard address, not the plus-addressed variation. Use a different email address or contact JAM support before inviting the user.

Before You Start

  • Confirm which email address the user will use for each organization.
  • If you plan to use plus addressing, verify that the user’s email provider and company configuration support it. Send a test email to the plus-addressed variation before sending the JAM invitation.
  • Ask the user to finish setting up one account before starting the next invitation.

Option 1: Use Different Email Addresses

Use this option whenever the user has access to two email addresses. For example:
  • Training organization: john.doe@company.com
  • Recruiting organization: john.doe@gmail.com
An Owner invites each address to the appropriate organization from Manage members. The user then opens each invitation and registers with the email address shown in that invitation. Each address creates a separate JAM account with its own roles, teams, assignments, and activity history.

Option 2: Use Plus Addressing

Some email providers support plus addressing. It adds +tag before the @ sign:
When supported, messages sent to both addresses arrive in the inbox for john.doe@company.com, while JAM treats them as separate account addresses.
Plus addressing depends on the email provider and may be disabled by an IT administrator. For example, Exchange Online enables plus addressing by default, but an administrator can turn it off. Always test delivery first.

For the Owner

1

Choose a clear tag

Use a tag that identifies the second organization, such as +recruiting or +training.
2

Test email delivery

Send a normal email to the tagged address and ask the user to confirm that it arrived in their regular inbox.
3

Send the invitation

In Manage members, invite the user to the second organization with the complete tagged address, such as john.doe+recruiting@company.com.
4

Share the sign-in details

Tell the user which address belongs to each organization. They must enter the tagged address exactly when registering and signing in.

For the User

1

Sign out of JAM

Open your profile menu and select Sign out before opening the invitation for the second organization.
2

Open the invitation

Find the invitation in your regular inbox and open its link.
3

Create the second account

Register with the complete tagged address shown in the invitation. Use email and password for this account; Google or Microsoft sign-in usually supplies the standard address and therefore will not match the tagged JAM account.
4

Sign in to the required organization

Use john.doe@company.com for one organization and john.doe+recruiting@company.com for the other.

Switching Between Organizations

There is no in-app organization switcher for these separate accounts. To move from one organization to another:
  1. Open your profile menu and select Sign out.
  2. Go to app.wejam.ai.
  3. Sign in with the exact email address assigned to the organization you want to access.
A password manager can store both account addresses and help you select the correct one without reusing passwords.

Reusing Learning Content Across Organizations

Learning content, including tracks, can be made available to more than one JAM organization. This requires setup by JAM and cannot be configured by an organization administrator. If your organizations should reuse the same tracks, email support@wejam.ai to arrange the setup.

Troubleshooting

Confirm that a test message reaches the plus-addressed variation. If it does not, ask the user’s IT administrator whether plus addressing is supported, or use a different email address.
Sign out and use email/password with the exact address from the invitation. Social sign-in usually returns the user’s standard email address rather than the tagged variation.
Use a different email address for the additional JAM account. Plus addressing is unlikely to work because the identity provider controls the email returned during sign-in. Contact support@wejam.ai if you need help choosing an approach.
