# Discovering Your CRM Schema

> Ask Jam Assistant to discover your CRM structure after adding custom fields, pipelines, or object types.

Jam Assistant reads your CRM structure - objects, fields, pipelines, and stage names - from Schema entries in Org Knowledge. When you make changes in HubSpot or Salesforce, those schema entries go stale and Jam Assistant may reference fields that no longer exist or miss fields you just created.

Discovery isn't a button on a settings page - you ask for it directly, in a conversation with Jam Assistant in the Assistant app ([link.wejam.ai](https://link.wejam.ai)). Only org admins can save the result (it's an org-wide Schema entry).

***

## When to Ask for Discovery

Ask Jam Assistant to (re)discover an object after any of the following:

* Adding custom fields to your CRM
* Creating a new pipeline or renaming stage names
* Adding or renaming object types
* Connecting a new CRM integration for the first time
* Jam Assistant references fields that no longer exist, or can't find fields you just created

***

## Running Discovery

**First time, no schema yet:** open a chat with Jam Assistant. When your org has no Schema entries, a **Scan Objectschema!** suggestion appears above the message box - click it, or just ask Jam Assistant to scan your CRM. Jam Assistant proposes schema entries for your main objects and saves them.

**Refreshing one object:** ask directly, one object per request - for example:

```
Please rediscover the Opportunity object.
```

```
Update the schema for the Case object, we added a few custom fields.
```

Jam Assistant examines your connected CRM in the background, typically completing within a few seconds, proposes a schema, and saves it as a Schema entry in Org Knowledge. You can ask for as many objects as you need, one at a time.

## Troubleshooting

**Jam Assistant won't discover or save a schema**

* Discovery and saving are admin-only. Ask an existing admin to run it, or to grant you the Admin role.
* Make sure your HubSpot or Salesforce integration is connected (Customize > Integrations).

**Jam Assistant still references old fields after running discovery**

* Wait a few seconds after discovery completes, then start a new conversation - schema entries are loaded fresh at the start of each conversation.
* Check that your CRM integration is still connected under **Customize > Integrations**.

**I don't see the "Scan Objectschema!" suggestion**

* It only appears when your org has no Schema entries at all. If you already have some and need to refresh one, just ask directly (see "Refreshing one object" above) instead of waiting for the suggestion.
